    What about Reliability ?

    During the installation of the cluster and the initial large Linpack benchmark runs they identified the following defective hardware:

    * 3 power supplies
    * 6 disk drives
    * 4 motherboards
    * 6 sticks of DRAM
    * 1 ethernet card

    During the six month period since the initial failures, the following hardware has failed:

    * 2 power supplies
    * 5 disk drives
    * 1 motherboard
    * 3 sticks of DRAM
    * 1 fan connector loose

    Crashing is NOT normal. It is accepted as normal because of Windows.

    --> OK imagine this: You have 24 monitors in front of you - covering every inch of your field of view, and a 12 node Linux cluster. And you are using this setup to play Quake3 with a gyro-mouse (basically a mouse that you can move in air). Add surround sound to the setting, and youll have the most awesome gaming experience of your life. Theyre doing this at Virginia Tech.
