The sound issue is known to me the installation of Microsoft hotfixes:
KB888111 and KB835221 is the key!
First of all install the both patches.
Then reboot the notebook and access the device manager. There you should find one or two PCI devices market with the yellow exclamation mark.
You have to remove these devices and should reboot the machine.
Then the Os should recognize an new device and should ask for the driver.
Then you should install the Realtek sound driver.
Regarding the modem driver; well, check simply the modem drivers for another notebook series maybe it will work too.
