If one or more shared folders have been set up on a virtual machine, you can use the shared folder to share files and folders between the virtual machine and the host operating system. Using shared folders provides a way to easily transfer files between the virtual machine and the host operating system. If, for example, you download a file by using the browser of your host operating system, you can configure the folder on the host operating system in which the file is stored as a shared folder, so the virtual machine can access the file. For instructions on sharing a folder, see Share a folder between a virtual machine and the host operating system.
You can also use shared folders to access disks on removable drives, such as USBconnected external hard drives. For more information about removable drives, see Using removable media, drives, and other devices.
Notes
Shared folders requires that the virtual machine is running and has Virtual Machine Additions installed. For more information about setting up shared folders, see Managing shared folders for virtual machines.
For security reasons, shared folders is turned off under MS-DOS 6.22 if EMM386 is loaded. For more information about EMM386, consult the MS-DOS 6.22 documentation.
You may encounter problems with folder sharing if the virtual machine is configured with a different locale than the operating system on the physical computer.
You cannot use shared folders to share a network drive.Have no fear ike iz here.
