Uploaded to show how the SD-Card "lock switch" works.
Lock switch in "Writeable" position.
As you can see this switch is in no way connected to the circuit board (PCB).
Its just a bit of plastic similar as the write protect slider on 3.5" Floppy disks.
Indeed the little switch is only evaluated by the card reader, the card cannot
protect itself by setting the switch to locked. If the Appliance/or the cardreader
is "evil" it can just ignore the setting of the switch and write to the card regardless
of switch position.
The Switch is just a "flag" to be evaluated by the SD-Card reading device.
