Îò gosugamers.net:
NOW FIXED AND WORKING
Hello everyone.
Today i spent few hours on figuring out how to disable the whole DEP (data execution prevention) on a computer running Windows Vista.
It seems that all the people using Vista have problems connecting to non-bnet servers like abyss or aus-1.
You can disable the DEP on Vista on some programs but not on starcraft. This is why you must shut down the whole DEP system on your computer which I don't encourage you to do because the whole security of Vista relies on DEP.
Anyway if you are committed to risk your computers security, here is the steps to disable DEP.
1. Click Start
2. All Programs
3. Accessories
4. Command line (right-click + run as administrator)
5. Type: bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff
(edit: was so sleepy when i posted this... fixed now)
At this point the command line should out put something about the succeeding of the process, but i'm not sure what (in english) because i'm running a finnish version of Vista.
6. Restart your computer
7. Enjoy
Your non-Bnet servers should be working by now. If not, do the following:
Right-click on starcraft.exe and choose properties -> run as administrator. Also make the program run with compability to Xp sp2. I also chose bwl.exe to run as administrator and with Xp sp2 compability.
I had fun searching for the info about Vista (not). Try to enjoy and only disable DEP on your own risk.
Happy Summer everyone!Íå îòãîâàðÿì íà íåãðàìîòíè ïîñòîâå. Äà èçòèêàìå HWBG ïàïëà÷òà!
