what is PROBABLY happening is that u are getting a BSOD and the computer is set to automatically reboot (default). Therefore u get no information as to what just happened.
U must find and untick that
In W7 it is in control panel\system\advanced system settings\startup and recovery\settings - uncheck automatically restart
look for it in similar place in Vista and the same but different in XP.
that way u can record the stop error code and it may also give u additional info regarding the error.
It is entirely possible that it is virus caused.
I hope u backup diligently.... ...!
