Compaq (HP), :
Try setting the unit to network server mode by:
Boot to F10.
Select Security --> Power-on Password and set a power on password, then hit F10 to accept the change.
A new option will be available on the Security menu, Password Options. Under that option set Network Server Mode to Enable, then hit F10 to accept the change.
Select File --> Save Changes and Exit.
Power down the system. Disconnect the keyboard and mouse and reboot the system. It should boot into Windows without any keyboard or mouse errors, and load any apps they have put into startup
Note: This method disables the keyboard and mouse completely. Even if the keyboard and mouse are connected, they will not respond. If the customer needs to make additional changes to the operating system or boot environment, they will need to disable Network Server Mode, reconnect their keyboard/mouse, make the change, then repeat the process listed above.
