Thermal Throttling is only supported by those CPUs which have the integrated temperature diode. When the CPU hits a certain temperature, the M/B will "throttle" it's speed down to prevent the CPU from burning up. That's why there are "% "options under the menu option of BIOS. It stands for how much it'll throttle the CPU speed back. If it doesn't cool down enough for safely operation, the M/B automatically shuts down to protect the CPU.
