Current A64/FX processors have a HTT of 200MHz and are designed with an 800MHz HT (4x LDT) in mind. Newer systems still use an HTT of 200MHz, but run on a 1,000MHz HT (5x LDT). Future plans are to run a 250MHz HTT with a 4x LDT for a 1,000MHz HT.

When overclocking, it is important to try and keep your HT speed somewhere between 600MHz and 900MHz. In most benchmarks, there is no noticable difference from running an HT between 600MHz and 900MHz. Many motherboards cannot run HT stable at speeds of 1000MHz, and some not even at speeds of 900MHz. In some cases HT speed becomes the limiting factor before CPU speed or memory speed.
