The expansion connectors of the SY-6BA+III are including: 5 PCI slots, 2 ISA slots, 1 AGP port and 4 DIMM sockets to support up to 1Gb of memory. On this side, no changes as the original 6BA was already offering this combination.

The configuration of this motherboard is totally accomplished within the BIOS under the "Soyo Combo Setup" menu.

    First of all, a choice of standard operating frequencies determined upon current processor speeds are offered. Among them, we find: 233Mhz (66 X 3.5), 266Mhz (66 X 4), 300Mhz (66 X 4.5), 333Mhz (66 X 5), 366Mhz (66 X 5.5), 400Mhz (66 X 6), 433Mhz (66 X 6.5), 466Mhz (66 X 7), 350Mhz (100 X 3.5), 400Mhz (100 X 4), 450Mhz (100 X 4.5), 500Mhz (100 X 5), 550Mhz (100 X 5.5), 600Mhz (100 X 6), 650Mhz (650 X 6.5) and finally, a "User Define" setting is allowing you to manually set the operating frequency of your processor. However, before to see the manual settings, I would like to inform you that a jumper on the motherboard is allowing to disable the processor lock feature on some processor.

When jumper JP8 is set to open, the processor pin B21 is not detecting the processor FSB frequency anymore and on some older processor this has for effect to disable the processor lock multiplier and therefore allow you to use another multiplier.

    The manual clock frequencies available are going from 66Mhz to 155Mhz including: 66Mhz, 75Mhz, 78Mhz, 81Mhz, 83Mhz, 90Mhz, 95Mhz, 100Mhz, 105Mhz, 110Mhz, 112Mhz, 113Mhz, 115Mhz, 117Mhz, 118Mhz, 120Mhz, 122Mhz, 124Mhz, 126Mhz, 133Mhz, 135Mhz, 137Mhz, 138Mhz, 140Mhz, 142Mhz, 144Mhz, 150Mhz, and 155Mhz. For all the above frequencies, the PCI bus is frequency never goes higher than 41Mhz and never lower than 31Mhz. By the way, the PCI bus frequency is always indicated along with the FSB frequency chosen.

The multipliers available are going from 2X to 8X in steps of 0.5X.

The processor core voltage can be adjusted to plus 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% or 10%.

The AGP clock can be selected upon 3 choices:

Auto: if the FSB is less than 100Mhz then the AGP will be divided by 1 otherwise it will be divided by 1.5

    1/1 FSB divided by 1

    1.5: FSB divided by 1.5

The additional features supported by this motherboard are: Software power off control, Power-on by keyboard, Power-on by Alarm, Modem Ring On, Power Failure Resume, Wake On LAN, PS/2 Mini-DIN mouse & keyboard ports, CPU fan four speed control and monitor, CPU temperature monitoring, On-board voltage monitors for CPU Vcore, VTT, +5v, +12V, 3.3V, 5VSB and battery low
